So I know what you’re thinking: Bailey, this is not what I was picturing when you said “banana split.”  Yes, I know when one typically pictures a “banana split” it includes, ice cream, peanuts, whipped cream, a cherry, hot fudge, and whatever other junk food that tastes oh so delicious but is oh so bad for you. But I’m here to convince you that my healthy little snacky creation is also worthy of the title banana split.

What is a banana split, technically, if not just a banana split into sections with toppings stuffed on and in between? So yes, my friends, you are indeed looking at a healthy banana split! But instead of ice cream and sugar, this baby is loaded with cashew butter, dates, granola, cinnamon, and dairy-free yogurt. Uhhh, YUM.

It’s the perfect little breakfast (or snack, or lunch, or whatever you want it to be) when you don’t feel like making anything but want something that’ll trick your taste buds into thinking you slaved over this delicious dish. Really what I’m trying to get at here is that you’re going to have one bite and be hooked and then you’ll be searching for any excuse you get to have one of these bad boys.

And your body will thank you, too, because obviously a banana split is gonna be made from bananas which are SO GOOD for you! (Duh). It’s loaded with fiber to help aid digestion and improve your heart health, it’ll boost your metabolism and energy, and oh baby is it loaded with nutrients. In just one banana you’ve got potassium, calcium, manganese, magnesium, iron, folate, riboflavin, and vitamin B6. WHAT. That’s amazing. So you’re going to see so many health benefits in so many different parts of your body from all those nutrients. PLUS, what I feel like bananas are really known for is their potassium levels. Just some of the benefits you’ll see from potassium include high blood pressure relief, enhanced muscle strength, and an improved metabolism, electrolytic functions, and nervous system.


Time to start acting like a monkey and making bananas a regular thang in yo diet. Your body will thank you. And so will your taste buds if you decide to make this banana split a part of your diet too.
