There is one drink that will always entice me. Two words. Pina. Colada.
YUM.
But after a workout, it’s not always the best idea to down a rum-filled cocktail… Until now. Nowwwww, instead of reaching for a traditional Pina Colada, reach for this delicious “mocktail” version!
The protein Pina Kale-Ada is filled with protein (duh), vitamins, and nutrients that are sure to help aid recovery post-workout AND aid in satisfying your taste buds! Protein is super important to consume after a workout because it helps to heal the micro tears in your muscles caused by working out and is also required for the muscle building process (among numerous other things). I always use Vega protein powders because they are delicious, clean, and plant-based. In addition to the vitamins and nutrients found in pineapple, coconut, and kale, this drink has it all! It’s a protein, fruit, and veggie party all in one glass, no alcohol necessary. Now enjoy!
Protein Pina Kale-Ada

Ingredients
- ½ cup coconut milk
- 1 scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder (I personally love all Vega protein products)
- ½ tsp coconut extract
- 1 stalk kale, stem removed
- ½ cup frozen pineapple
- 1 Tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut
Directions
- Combine your coconut milk, protein powder, coconut extract, kale, shredded coconut, and frozen pineapple in a high-powered blender. Blend until smooth. If your smoothie isn’t thick enough, add some ice cubes and blend again until thick and smooth.
